This is some radio equipment I passed close by on the Summit Trail. You could take detours off the trail to visit other equipment along the way, but I would not recommend it since time is tight on this "day" hike. I started right at dawn (~6 AM) and was still hiking back with a flashlight two hours after dark. This took me 14 hours round trip. I wonder if I took a wrong fork that extended the length beyond the posted 6.5 miles. I tried to either follow the metal markers (more official-looking) or the upslope of the mountain. It would be best to follow a GPS track for this trail since there are numerous "sticks" marking every which way and making it confusing.
