Classicphotos especially with the wool socks and knickers. I started alpine climbing around that same time and it was my outfit too!

Re: ClassicI knew if anyone would notice the knickers, you would. I actually started climbing in the early 60s and it took me a few years before I commited myself to those funny looking pants.

Re: Classicwell I'm not usually a fashion critic but... I like the look anyway. My first ones were altered army wool pants and I could hardly wait to look like a real "climber" I never smoked a pipe tho. :)

Re: thatThank you for checking out the album.
We didn't go to the top, but we climbed a few hundred feet and bailled.

Re: thatJeepers, aside that I've not climbed such gigantic routes, I hold eternal admiration. I'd not even have bailed out of the car!
My saving grace is that I can ascend sheet ice ramps without crampons. Well, we all have our madness.

Re: thatThank you Ray, but I don't deserve any admiration as I would not dream of climbing anything like these any longer. I stick to much easier and shorter routes on my best day.

You are too modest...... climbing with Vibram soles in that wet. The only part of me that'd be climbing would be my nuts - right back inside for protection! These faces make me feel puny, though inspired!
