Rappelling the pillar at It-Tieqa ta' Wied il-Mielaħ

We are on top of the pillar of It-Tieqa ta' Wied il-Mielaħ, a big natural arch on the north coast of Gozo. To get a better idea of where we are going:

Jan is about to descend the pillar on the right

There are a bunch of routes from the base of the pillar, ranging from grade 3 to 5c+. If the sea isn't too rough, it would be possible to access the base from the sea with a small boat, but there are solid anchors at the top of the arch that make it easy to get there by rappelling. 23 Dec 2016.
