Raven

Raven

There are many Ravens (Corvus corax) in Lake Mead Area. I snuck up on this one on route to Hamblin Mountain. Nevada. Winter 2007. It is believed that ravens are highly intelligent, perhaps most intelligent of all birds.

Dumpster Diver!

Hey, I saw him digging in the dumpster at Lake Mead a couple of weeks ago! :) Yes, Ravens are beautiful and intelligent; it's a sheer pleasure to see them playing.

Re: Dumpster Diver!

They are opportunists and cleaners of nature. I have seen people digging in dumpsters downtown many times too ;)

Ruffed-Raven

Another great shot of a raven. The raven population here in New Hampshire has exploded in the last 30 years. They're everywhere and I enjoy seeing them every day.

Re: Ruffed-Raven

Thank you. Their number here is quite large also. This one was actually clearing his throat when I took this picture. As soon as he was able to make sounds again, he flew away.
