Reason I turned back this day

Flames jumping the next ridge. I could see the smoke during my climb but when I got between the summit and the first gendarme to the south, these flames started to be seen. At this point, the smoke had stretched over the sky above me and I figured this is one of those times where you get to tell everyone you were SO close but had to turn back. So, I did.
