Recovering After a Serious Accident

Recovering After a Serious Accident

Taken by Gimpilator on August 27th, 2014 on my third day of being in the hospital. I had a serious mountain climbing accident that I'm very glad I survived. Right now I'm at home finally allowed to use 1 1/2 hands to type. It's very likely that it will be a year before I am allowed to climb again. While it's sad in a sense, I had an amazing summer and am taking it well. I'll miss running and the physical difficulties I pushed myself through. But some day I will return to my realms of adventure. For now I have much writing to do.

Get well ...

... soon. At your young age, plenty of time left to pursue those dreams. Meanwhile, think of all the time you'll have to work on SP's improvements! ;-) --mark d.

Re: Vote a 10

So far I'm at about a 6 or a 7. Hoping to make it to 9.8. ;-)

Hey Josh, I wish you the best and hope your recovery goes as smoothly as it can. I also have gone through serious recovery from a bad injury so I can relate. Having a goal to work towards is a great motivator, which it sounds like you already have with hiking. You'll do great!

Thank God...

...you're recovering, after an incident that could have really been fatal...You say you were struck by a boulder 3 feet wide - nearly a meter!!! - at the back of your head, which made you tumble nearly right over a cliff - thank God you managed to come to a halt just in time! Wishing you a swift recovery, and that the German saying "what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger" will also go for you! Can't wait to read your full story!
Best wishes to you coming from Europe,
Eric
