Three in one day
First time weather kept us from hitting Sunshine, but my daughter and I returned to get it and summited Redcloud again.
Climbed Redcloud and Sunshine Peaks (standard) - the valleys were rich green and Redcloud's fiery red summit cone was a nice aesthetic touch to the scenery!
Beat the weather on this one. Beautiful morning. Great views. With Sarah and Deb.
Considering the recent weather patterns (cold and damp with heavy downpours and lightning) we really lucked out on the weather! Cold in the am with fresh light snow and frost, bu warmed up with morning sun. With Deb and Astroclimber.
Tough to the summit due to snow. Kept us from getting to Sunshine.
Sunshine and Redcloud, great mountains and very spicy hike down from the saddle between them.
Great day, had the mountains all to myself.
A simple hike/climb on a beautiful day with fall colors. My 52nd 14er, my daughter's 51st, Cimarron's 4th.
The only day of four it didn't rain. Great peak!
first 14er of the year in the bag. Warm, dry, snow almost all gone.
Climbed (hiked) with my son. Our first father/son 14er. Climbed via the standard route from Grizzly Gulch. Crossed over to Sunshine of course.
Up the face to avoid snow. What a pain.
Combined with Sunshine. Nice ascent, rough descent. (Descended between Sunshine and Sundog.)
Sunshine/Redcloud combo. Beautiful Area, first 14er.
Solo, with Sunshine Peak
2 hours to Redcloud, not bad given Sneffels and El Diente-Wilson traverse in the preceding two days. Gorgeous views of the next objectives, Wetterhorn and Unconpahgre!
Sunshine Pk from Silver Creek - Grizzly Gulch trailhead
From Sunshine to Redcloud the rock becomes really really red. I bet this mountain is pretty in the green summer.
