Ritter Range

Ritter Range with Minarets, Mount Ritter, and Banner Peak as seen from the top of Mammoth Mountain. Mount Lyell, the highest peak in the Yosemite National Park can be seen as the highpoint to the right of Banner Peak. March 2008

Is it really Mt. Lyell?

That's really awesome. I always thought
it was part of Banner Peak. There are
some folks in CA who can name all the
peaks on the entire east side of the Sierra.

Well, I am certainly not one of them. But I try...In fact on top of Mammoth Mountain there is now a very nice informational viewing area with description of many peaks that are visible from there. According to that description that peak in the photo (which is easier to see when you open the image) is in fact Mt. Lyell. Cheers and thanks. Guido
