The water that sometimes runs through this channel evaporates in the intense heat and aridity here, leaving just salt behind. This channel is off the West Side Road, a 40-mile dirt road that winds through the heart of Death Valley itself. Death Valley National Park, CA-- March 2008

Driven down that road- don't remember seeing these though. Will be keeping my eye out next time.
