I have climbed several routes in the Lake Amatitlan area. The rock is sketchy at best and the climbs leave you coated in dust or mud. The advantage is that there are lots of routes for just about any level of climber - only one or two multi-pitches though. A very sweet place to climb is Cerro Quemado in the Xela area of Guatemala.
Thanks for commenting! Yeah, I've hard that the Xela area is cool. If I ever went back I'd like to do some FA stuff, cause there is tons of potential it seemed! Cheers :)
