Rocky Mountain National Park

This photo was taken above Haynach Lake near Cheif Cheley Mountain. Longs can be seen to the left, followed by Pagoda Mountain to its right. Closer in and moving right of Pagoda is McHenrys, Powell, Taylor, Mount Alice, and Snowdrift Peak.

Sorry

A very nice picture of a beautiful, remote area of The Park, but the peaks to the right of Pagoda are McHenrys, Powell, Taylor, Mount Alice (double summit), and the closer peak on the right is Snowdrift Peak.

Re: Sorry

Thanks Jim, from this vantage point they were harder for me to distinguish. The correction was made.

Re: Sorry

I thought right of Pagoda we see also Chiefs Head. McHenrys is also visible in front of Chiefs Head, but it should not completely cover it.

Edit: The thing about the snow in my original post was wrong: The snow is on McHenrys.

Re: Sorry

I just looked at the large version of Dan's picture, and you can see the start of the East Ridge of Chiefshead ... but you can't see the summit. It's behind McHenrys.
I did notice you can see the summit of Hallett, just to the left of Longs, sticking up from behind unnamed summit 12,277 ft. I call it Tonahutu Point since it doesn't meet the 300 foot rule. It's actually 3 feet higher than Snowdrift.

Re: Sorry

If one goes right from McHenrys's summit, one sees what looks like a secondary summit. That, I believe, is in fact Chiefs Head's summit. It's minuscule, barely visible even at full magnification of the picture, but the position is right and, as far as I know, there is no such secondary summit on McHenrys.

Re: Sorry

You're correct. I just sent you an email image with this view compared to nearly the same view from Mount Ida ... see if you agree.

photo use permission

Hello,
Great pic. Wonder if our nonprofit Estes Arts Distric could use this photo as part of an Colorado Creative Industries application for arts district cerification? No profit or advertising involved.
