Rocky Mountain Woodsia (Woodsia scopulina)

Rocky Mountain Woodsia (Woodsia scopulina)

Rocky Mountain woodsia is found on rocky slopes, talus and cliffs in moist forests throughout much of the mountain west U.S. It also is found occasionally east to Quebec. It is very similar to Woodsia oregana, but generally is slightly larger, grows in moister areas and has hairs. Photo taken along the North Fork Clearwater River, Idaho.
