Scrambled over from the summit of Warren. Great views in all directions. Descended by resummiting Warren and scrambling down to the Chicago Lakes overlook.
With Rachael, Kevin and Sarah. Winter loop from the bottom of the road, with a few cut switchbacks. Also climbed Goliath and Warren.
Good offbeat peak
Hiked it with my wife. Started at the upper Mt. Goliath parking lot. After we got above 12,700 feet we saw a Ptarmigan with her baby. We scared the baby pretty bad as it flew away. Happened so fast I could not even think about getting my camera. Moments later we saw what was presumably the dad. Then we saw another one further up, then another one! On the way down we saw one in the same vicinity as one of them, we guess we already saw that one, then later on saw another one. Could not believe all the Ptarmigans up there. What a treat!
We really enjoyed the summit boulder and the view on top. Great hike, loved it.
Together with Spalding, Grey Wolf, Warren....great training hike!
from Summit Lake with Warren. Slept on summit of Evans and did some acclimation hikes before leaving for Elbrus.
Nice tour of Mt. Evans (via the Snave), Mt. Spalding, Mt. Warren and Goliath Mtn.
This was the 14er finisher parade for Britt and Paul. Over Goliath, Rogers, Warren, Spalding, W Evans, and finally Evans.
With Warren. Slid down the side and hitched back to Summit Lake.
12/11/09 - Started from Echo Lake and snowshoed directly up to meet the Mt. Evans road at 11,800 ft (cutting a few of the big switchbacks). Stashed the shoes at treeline and climbed Rogers and then Warren.
1/2/11 - I'm a glutton for punishment and repeated Rogers & Warren for the winter tick along with Mount Evans. Wind was horrible.
Early morning, pre-work hike to the summit. Very cool!
scooted over to rogers during the intermittent rain showers. the mist was disorienting but the noise from the road kept it from being problematic.
16 miles roundtrip, climbed Evans (repeat climb) via the NE face, then Warren (13er), Rogers (13er), and Goliath (12er). Twas a bluebird day and I felt great!!
Started at Summit Lake and hiked up Warren and then headed over to Rogers. On the way to Rogers we saw 6 mountain goats. Beautiful day, with snow on the ground. then returned the way we came, but bypassed Warren on the return.
Climbed solo as part of a long ridge tour from Echo Lake - Goliath to Rogers to Warren to Spalding to Gray Wolf back to Echo Lake. Great warm spring day with plenty of sunshine! The road was still closed giving the place an eerie solitude.
Hiked the road for almost 5 miles and headed up. This probably ended up being about a 13+ mile day. Not too bad considering I'm getting over bronchitis! HA!
A cold, lonely, windy day. I was glad all the discomfort paid off in getting my first summit of 2009. Hauled snowshoes to the summit but they were never needed. Avalanche conditions were inviting after the recent dry spell..took 4 hours from Echo Lake to summit and 3 hours down..
Wife, dog and I from Summit Lake after hiking Epaulet-Roaslie.
