Nice rock chair on summit.
There was bad weather for weeks in WA so Heather and I drove through OR, CA, NV, UT, and ID. We climbed 37 peaks in 19 days and on the 10th day of the trip we hiked up Ruby Dome and Ruby Pyramid. Ruby Pyramid was my 40th DPS peak. It's a nice hike and thankfully we didn't pay a single dime to use the crappy campground or access the trailhead. There was a fair bit of snow on the route which made some sections more interesting. Ruby Pyramid is worth the effort because it has a better view of the rest of the range. trip report
As part of a day hike up Ruby Dome.
Popped over the saddle north of Ruby Dome to tag this first. Trip report.
8/29/2013 Quick trip from Ruby Dome to Ruby Pyramid, less than a half hour. I am glad I waited to eat my lunch on Ruby Pyramid as the lazy boy chair was high class. Awesome mountains.
Quickly tagged peak before going to Ruby Dome by common saddle. Dry year, but still had to navigate snowfields. Route I took to Ruby 6 years back, was now partly covered with high-angle snow.
Bonus peak after climbing Ruby Dome. Trip Report.
Nice day in eastern Nevada. Climbed this one with Ruby Dome. I thought the stone chair was pretty cool. Nice and relaxing. The swim in Griswold Lake was just what the doctor ordered on the way out.
Very smoky. But certainly an easy double to pull off for a long day hike/climb.
