Saintgrizzly, Sangre De Cristos, 1978

After many years away studying photography, Vern returned home to Colorado and joined my friend Mark and I on an exciting climb of Tijeras Peak in the Sangre De Cristos. It was good to be climbing with him again, and he was happy to be home. The Sangre De Cristo fourteeners known as the Crestones are in the background. Digital scan of a 35mm photo. Vern's Studies

I should have just read on; it sounds as though Vern studied photography, but what else? Did he have any scholarly interests?
Looks like we share a love of the rugged peaks above Crestone. There was a time when I seriously considered moving to that high, cold, beautiful place.

Re: Vern's Studies

Hi Harlen-

Photography was always his first academic love. He studied in Norway for a year and another year in Lander, Wyoming. He and I got around Colorado quite a bit. We climbed Tijerras long before it was "discovered." The Sangres are a fabulous mountain range. Thanks for stopping by.
