A group of seven of us all made it to the top and back via the Vivian Creek Trail.
Hiked the Fish Creek route. Great day hike. Somewhat strenuous. Trail's in good condition. Took about 8 hours. Great views!
2nd time to the summit. Last time was in the snow so this was a lot different than last time. Be ready to bring enough water as there is none really to speak of.
Great trip to summit San Gorgonio. Amazing sky with a 8:30pm summit time!
Last peak in 9 peak challenge done over Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful weather at the top, a few patches of snow still left around. I completed 7 of the 9 peaks, my wife did 8 of them and 2 of our friends each did 7. Limber Pine Spring was still flowing (we camped there first night). Trip video here: http://youtu.be/-29-ObWUHMk
With my son and his Boy Scout troop. Good hike.
Great climb with my father!
3rd time I have been up this mountain, and it had to be the most difficult one. In the past I have always just did the climb in one day. This time we camped and had to a haul way too much stuff.
Led a group of 10 hikers from the SEEING TRAILS HIKE GANG as an overnight backpacking trip via the South Fork Trail. We went a few days after San G received it's earliest snow fall on record and during the Government shut down. Given these obstacles, everything went very smoothly and even the completely unexperienced had no issues on the trail at all. Amazing.
This was one of our last training hikes to prepare for Mt. Whitney in a day and I thought that this peak via Vivian Creek was harder than Whitney in a day. The summit was incredible, however. We got buzzed by a glider which was really cool.
Long day. Summit plateau seemed to go on forever.
According to my GPS this turned out to be more miles than any book I had read. Almost missed my plane back to Utah.
Waterfalls, open fields, and a windy summit. Great trail.
6.5 hours round trip from Vivian Creek.
With Doug, Mark O'Leary, and Jimmy
1994: north side w/ Doug, Tracy, Pete, Laura and Rahil
After tagging Dobbs, Lil' Dobbs and Jepson, might as well hit San G since it's right there. Descent via Vivian Creek was a pain, but overall the outing was awesome.
Spent a few days camping out at Dollar lake and Dry lake, made the summit on the second day. Spent the other days enjoying the beauty of the mountains.
Rewarding day hike with Richard Rojas and Adam Marquez. 5.5 hours up and 3.5 hours down. Temperatures were rather warmish but we were still surprised to basically have the mountain to ourselves - only came across one other hiker during the first hour on the trail - nobody else the rest of the day.
Summit # 5 first time up the Dollar creek trail.
Left the trail head at 10PM and got to the summit @ 2 AM. Love the views at night. Perfect weather in the 60's with a very light brease. Retune to car by 7 am.
