Vivian Creek
At 7:30pm my friends and I bumped into a guy and his girlfriend without any gear at all who had "taken a nap" on the summit. Let them borrow an extra tent and space blankets.

Fun but cold
Was woken up by a rescue helicopter searching for a lost hiker at midnight. Took the South Fork Route.
Twice by Vivian Creek and once by Fish Creek. Though the drive is worse, I enjoyed the Fish Creek trail more.

Dollar Lake to Dry Lake Roundtrip
22.3 mile day-trip. Started at Jenks' South Fork Trail to Dollar Lake, up to the San Gorgonio Peak, down to Dry Lake. Exhausted from my longest day hike I've ever attempted.

Again on Vivian Creek with Vivian
Two months after my first summit on San Gorgonio, my daughter Vivian and my son Christoph joined me on this very enjoyable hike. We left the trailhead in extremely hot conditions (over 90 F). Overnight at Halfway Camp, then a very pleasant early AM hike to the windy and quite cold summit. On the way down we encountered a huge rattlesnake "chilling" right next to the trail! We were back at our car by 5 PM. Vivian really enjoyed her first peak above 11,000 ft!

Great hike up to the uncrowded summit, freezing temperatures and high winds.

4 1/2 hours to summit. No snow on route. A neat hike up a large peak.

3x in a day!
Summitted 3 times in a single day via 3 different trailheads (Vivian Creek, Fish Creek, and the South Fork). Total time: 21 hours. Distance: 48 miles. Gain: 14,000 feet.

Three way with Vivian
A group of eight grew to nine and then shrank to four. Myself and brother in law, and two newbies being introduced to the mountains. My bro and I had done the mountain before, years and years ago. One of the group got twisted up like a pretzel on the way to high camp and we soldiered on without him and let him rest. We tagged the top, SLOWWWWWLY, celebrated with a little salami, cheese and whiskey. Got my second wind and ran down to camp. Low and behold came across our friend and he was on his way UP!! Really proud of him and had a great time!!

Nice hike...took 8 hours. Being a sea-level guy, definitely felt the thin air up top.

Various lumps
Went up S Fork, down Dollar Lake Saddle, over Jepson, Little and regular-sized Charlton. Nice flowers, and ... different. I'm amazed those three small subsidiary peaks have register boxes (though most are vandalized).
If San Antonio is Old Baldy, San Gorgonio should be Old Lumpy. The South Fork Trail takes forever to get to the point.
We hiked up the Fish Creek trail, camped at Mineshaft Flats and then hiked to the summit on Saturday. Still have several large snow fields to cross on the trail between Mineshaft Flats and the summit. If we had known we could have turned off the trail before the last snow field and gone direct to the summit, that snow was steep and slippery.
