First taste
Lovely introduction to the Sandias on the tram, which was astoundingly crowded on this blue-skied fiesta weekend. Definitely want to come back for more - ABQ is a fascinating area.

1st visit
Beautiful mountain, so many trails, routes and different hiking/climbing opportunities, great 1st peak in New Mexico for me.
I lived for 15 years at the base of Sandia Mountains. It was my backyard where I used to do my trail running, mountain biking, climbing, hiking etc. Lovely area, and believe it or not, but there is even ice climbing there.
