Sandstone on the slopes of Mount Graniczna

The area of the Low Beskid was underneath the Tetid Ocean about 100 million years ago. Today the mountains in this area are built from sandstone which originated as sand at the bottom of this ocean. These sandstone rocks were formed during the Eocene epoch about 35 million years ago. The Low Beskid - Slope of Mount Graniczna (471 m) - October 17, 2007.
