2nd Ascent
Beautiful weather, many wildflowers, and the views were fantastic, especially of the extravagantly heavy snows on the Sierra. Last Chance the day before made for an excellent two day trip.

Standard Route
Too much postholing in the Sierra after some late season storms, so we were chased out to Death Valley. After Last Chance Mountain in the morning, we hiked to Sandy Point in the afternoon. A nice hike along a ridge with great views of the Eureka Dunes from the summit.

Quick hike
Took the boring way from Death Valley Road, because it was less driving, and I didn't want to run out of gas. Pretty standard DPS fare. Trip report.

6 days in the desert
Heather and I hiked the north ridge of Sandy after going to the top of Eureka Dunes. We found Sandy to be a bit tedious and cloudy weather obscured part of the views. Other things we did on this trip include Ord, Last Chance, Chocolate, Towne BM, Tucki, and Ibex Dunes HP.

Through the canyon, down the ridge
I took the DPS route through the canyon and onto the east ridge up to a saddle, then on to the summit. Despite the DPS Peaks Guide, the views made this ridge anything but boring. I stayed on the western ridge above the canyon on the descent, then back out across the desert to the road. A busy day on the mountain, as there were two other parties besides me on the mountain today.

OK, I was a bit stiff from the previous day. Even the DPS guide calls this ridge "boring," but after initial skepticism, I really enjoyed the long saunter.
