Great page about an important mountain that was still missing!
IMHO the mountain is without doubt #2 in the Group behind Hochgall.
In Germany the mountain is also known as Ruthner Horn. The name was given to honor the famous mountain explorer Anton von Ruthner, and it is quoted in some maps and books. But of course the original name has to be preferred.
Sage --> Saege
First climber was archduke (Erzherzog) Rainer of Austria with Major Graf Heinrich Wurmbrand and guides Georg Weiss, Georg Auer and Heinrich Oberarzbacher on October 6th 1866.
Gelttal valley is a very scenic high valley. I can recommend this side of the mountain very much
Best map is Tabacco 1:25000 Nr. 35 "Valle Aurina / Ahrntal – Vedretta di Ries / Rieserferner Gruppe

Thanks, Mathias! For everything: for encouraging me to do the page, for great pictures, and finally for this useful information and vote.
I included your comments into the main text. I saw your pictures - could you add the route description for the ascent from south? You did it. How hard is it in comparaison to the north ridge?
Yes, of course I did it. But it is so long ago, I don't have clear memories any more. My diary says that we went wrong and came too deep into the flank on descent from the summit. This was ugly. Staying at the ridge is probably the better choice.
So what about the pictures? There seem to be enough on the page now! It's an excellent page and I'm happy that the mountain finally has its place on SP.
