Sea-buckthorn, Sevan Lake Basin, Armenia

Hippophae rhamnoides, widespread all over the heart of Asia, a thousand miles from the nearest sea sometimes. But the name refers to where it is found in Britain. This draft- and salt-resistant bush is pretty much confined to the seaside dunes in the rainy Western Europe. Good stuff, vitamins E and C by the ton!

Thanks Afzal! You know, looking for edible berries and mushrooms is almost like a national sport in Eastern European countries. I am just faithfully following the lead of my forefathers here :)
