Interesting, but…

… if my 10% had been counted the list had been slightly different.

Anyway, a lot of room for personal views here:)

Re: Interesting, but…

Of course. Everyboy has their own favourite 3000 meter peak. To minimize our own opinion we only counted our personal view with 10 percent (twice).

But, now I'm curious..what's your top three?

Re: Interesting, but…

Eiger first and Bietschhorn second. Piz Palü having three summits close to 4000m could be third or Fletschhorn where there have been plans to add seven meters to reach 4000m.

Re: Interesting, but…

I am sure that Palu and fletschhorn would have been high on mine (and Jurgens) list too. The reason they are not included is because the combination of Isolation+Google Hits didn't create enough points to make it on the list. This is the reason they were not included in the list of 37 to choose from for our personal favourites. If the list was only based on personal favourites they would have been very high in my list as well :-)

Title

The title of the list implies that it is a list of all the 3000ers of Switzerland.

Perhaps you should change the title to more accurately state the contents of the list...

Re: Title

Thanks for your comment Fred and you're right, but haven't found a more accurate alternative. So, to be continued...

Re: Title

How about "Selected 3000ers of Switzerland" ?

Re: Title

I like your suggestion "Selected 3000ers of Switzerland". Is it ok if we use this name? Thanks for helping us out!

Mont Dolent?

Where was Mont Dolent relative to the others? I didn't realize its isolation was but 1 mile.

Re: Mont Dolent?

Yes, Aiguille de Triolet nearby, in France, is higher. For that matter it would be placed 35th out of 39 for the Isolation and 20th out of 39 for google hits. So in the total ranking it would have been at about place 25-30 depending on our personal votes.

Where are mountains as...

Grand Mount Ruan (3047 m) and Tour Sallière (3219 m)?

Thanks

Re: Where are mountains as...

Grand Mount Ruan would be at place 10-15 for Google Hits, it would place outside the top 25 for Isolation as well for my personal choice.
Tour Saliere would be at +- place 5-10 for google Hits and outside the top 25 for isolation and personal choice.
I tried to find the original list but wasn't able to find it so I can't give you the exact location in the list for these peaks, only this estimation.
I can say though, Tour Saliere comes close to place 25 or so. Gran Mount Ruan is placed lower.
