Seneca lake camp

Seneca lake camp

Our camp above Seneca Lake on our way to Titcomb basin, and Gannett Peak. We ended up turning around on upper gooseneck glacier during our summit attempt of Gannett when the weather turned sour, and never made the summit. Even though I am usually quite disappointed when I don't reach my goal of summiting, I look back on this trip as likely being my favorite so far even among successful 14,000ft summits and great trips in other Wyoming, Colorado, California, and Arizona locales. (I've never backpacked outside the lower 48.) The completely unique and spectacular beauty of the Wind River Range and in particular Titcomb basin will make you never want to leave. I can’t say enough about this area, even if you don’t have any of the fantastic summits in mind it is defiantly worth the trip.
