Approach
Climb
North Carbonate by the north or east side. Follow its southwest ridge down and back up until it converges with Grizzly Mountain's east ridge at 13,450', about a mile from North Carbonate's summit.
Route Description
Follow Grizzly's east ridge toward the summit. Very soon, the ridge narrows and drops steeply to a low point of 13,070'. Stay on or near the ridge crest as you pass several notches and class 3 pitches. The ridge is precarious and exposed at times, including a short knife edge section about half way across. The ridge gradually eases as you near Grizzly Mountain's summit. Savor your accomplishment and return by the same route.
Essential Gear
Nothing out of the ordinary.
