Smokuski vrh big panorama

Smokuški vrh, 1122 m, is a summit in an unsignificant ridge, which starts the Kamnik and Savinja Alps on the very West. But as it rises directly above the Gorenjska plane, it offers a magnificent panorama - especially on Julian Alps and the surroundings of Bled lake. We can easily understand the greatest Slovenian poet France Prešeren, saying: "Dežela Kranjska nima lepš'ga kraja, kot Bled z okol'co, ta podoba raja!" "All Carniola country has nothing of higher grace than Bled with its surroundings, Eden place!" The west ridge of Smokuški vrh is also a nice half day hike up - but quite exposed on a few places and also steep (T3/T4). December 26th, 2016.
