long day
Multiple summit day.
This was another disappearing summitlog. What the hell is up, Summitpost? Why are my summits disappearing. Isn't that the point of this site? Why am I bothering anymore?

Decision making summit
Took me about fifty minutes to get here from the Galehead Hut. My initial plan for the day was to get five more peaks after this one (Zealand, North Twin, and the Bonds) and walk back to my car at Lincoln Woods but a totally sleepless night spent at the hut and the effects of a cold made me think walking down after North Twin was a better option. My GF rescued me off Haystack Road and drove me south to get my car.

A butt kicker!
I bagged this peak as part of a 1.5 day Pemi Loop trip where I bagged 10 4K summits in all (plus a few that didn't count). I started my second day from the AMC Hut in the saddle below Galehead and the 1mile to the summit of South Twin was a relentless climb of rocks to the summit. I was soaked in sweat by the time I hit my first of 6 summits for the day :-)
The weather was incredible, but the ridge line was bone dry and had I been smart I would have refilled my water at Liberty Spring because I was desperate by the time I was coming off Garfield.

Great View
After getting some lunch at the Galehead Hut, we climbed up here. The views were very limited at first, but while we sat up there, the clouds began to break and we got some fantastic views of the surrounding peaks. I enjoyed the views from here better than any of the Franconia Ridge peaks. Peak #6 on our 5-day trip.
Did both the Twins, dayhike. Crowded and cloudy. Not much of a peak to spend most of a day getting to, and the clouds messed up all the sites, but that's the "Whites".

Pemi loop backpack
Did a Pemi Loop over 2.5 days with a couple of friends. Going counter clockwise, camped at Guyot and Garfield tent sites. Saw an awesome lightning over a town to the north storm from Garfield; got hailed on in a lightning storm on the way out on the last day. Had a bottle of Bowmore with us.

sun and views
This was the third peak I crossed on my trip through the peaks in the Northern part of the Pemigewasset. I came in from the Twinway. The views were great from the top. I hid my pack in a bush and did North Twin after this.

South Twin Mountain
Climbed with West Bond, Bond, Guyot and North Twin via the Twinway Trail from Galehead. Reached the top of South Twin at dawn to see an amazing sunrise. Definately one of the finest summits in the Appalachians. While descending over to Guyot encountered a brief of fierce rainstorm.

Aborted one-day Pemi-Loop
Managed 29 miles and 6100 vertical feet on a day with wet and muddy trails, intermittent rain, and three shoe-soaking, nerve-rattling stream crossings on the Franconia Brook Trail. Took 15+ hours.
