Southwest Ridge

Southwest Ridge

As seen from near the Silvertip Mountain summit, this is a great view of the southwest ridge of the peak. This view shows the steep forest leading to an open area (approximately 6000' elevation) located below a large rocky bluff. Summiters go around the east side of the rocky bluff to enter a large gully that leads steeply up to the west ridge (not shown in this photo). Mount Shuksan and Mount Baker, both located in nearby Washington (USA), can be seen in the top-background of the photo. Photo taken on September 30, 2012.
