Spider Walk (5.7) and Silver Spot (5.13b)

Spider Walk, the crack route, is a fun one and could be led, though the top will be run-out albeit easy. Silver Spot, first climbed in the 60s and originally rated 5.10, was finally re-graded long after a hold broke off. It is now the highest-rated climb at Carderock, though some say Evan's Bolt Ladder (5.12d) is really the hardest one. We got this one on toprope, but it was ugly and involved lots of cursing and hangdogging. Carderock, Maryland-- December 2015
