Spring apporaches require flotation

The spring snowpack is becoming more hollow and dangerous, more for twisting ankles and fatigue without skis than slides. I nearly wrote an article about this naming it "snowclimbing is dead" because skis seem so essestial for approaches because the snow isn't setting up.
