Nice photo!Very nice job here. It's a shame there are so many jack ass people who downvote cool photos like these. Oh well, it's five stars in my book! Take care and thanks for sharing!

Re: Nice photo!Britt, thanks. The lighting in this slot was quite dim, so it was a bit of a challenge holding the camera for the slow shutter speed.
Regarding the votes, I figure the purpose of pictures on this site is to provide inspiring images, to convey information, or some combination of both. I don't think my photos are award-winners, artistically, but with them, I try to convey information about the mountain and its route and what one might expect to see. If some people don’t like one of my pictures they certainly have the right to give it a low vote. Apparently, people who downvote photos for illegitimate reasons have plagued this site for a long time. The message boards are riddled with complaints about this. I guess the anonymity of the SP photo voting allows people with undeveloped social skills to express themselves in their own little way.

Re: I like the rockIn any slot canyon, there is always some danger of flash floods, but Spry Canyon's flash-flood danger rating is low. I would assume that is because Spry's drainage basin is relatively small.
Here is some more information on Spry Canyon.
