Star Dune and Crestones at Sunrise

A blatant ripoff of a prior image of mine that was very well received (one of SP's top 100, in fact). Was back at Great Sand Dunes a couple weeks ago and a friend wanted to try to re-shoot the picture, except at sunrise. This is my version--Star Dune and the twin summits of the Crestones. This time I shot it landscape (horizontal) so I could have some desktop wallpaper, LOL. So, what do you think? Better? Ripoff? Imaged in July 2013.

This one...

... is beautiful too, but I like the portrait mode better.

This was actually shot a few years later and is a sunrise shot vice sunset. A friend had seen my earlier shot and we were near there and he asked that I show him where I got that previous one. So, took this one at that time. I think the other is better, too.

Apparently most of SP must, too, since the other is, I'm pretty sure, the highest rated shot on SP that was not a POTW--its misfortune of going up against this great shot that same week, LOL:
