Seems curiousthis ibex. I never saw them that close. I ran into a herd once, females with lots of kiddies but they all ran away when we drew near. I'm envious! And your daughter sure takes great pictures!

The behaviour of steinbocks......is quite different with respect to chamoises, just more difficult to approach. In particular for the lazy males. In the case of their females with kiddies, usually separated from the males, I agree the approaching can be less easy.

Re: The behaviour of steinbocks......I just presented your daughter with * * * * Give her my greetings for a perfect shot. I think that the ibex is the most beautiful mountain animal on four legs. And she found it there just waiting to be my new screensaver. I'm using a lot of different pics from SP as screensavers. This ibex will be one of the most used in the future I'm sure.
Ciao

Re: The behaviour of steinbocks...I'll send you my mailaddress. And the other photo is known to me - I like that too, but this one the best. Some years ago I went to the Gran Paradiso and one of my great expectations was to meet the ibex. I only saw some very lazy small ones near the terrasse of rifugio Chabod. I would hav liked to see them along the path instead.
