Markmay ?

This is the 'easiest' way to get to the summit of Thielsen? A person can come in on the PCT and find their way around to the south side? I suppose once you get above the treeline, it's pretty smooth and easy???
Is there a lot of loose rock and talus to go through? Camping at Diamond Lake???
Okay, thanks for the beta. Take care! LARRY

Re: Markmay ?

I drove down from Bend and went up from the north pretty sold rock the whole way. the summit pitch is solid rock for sure and fouth class. Camping around the lake would be pretty crowded in many places but you can find quiet spots off the trail to the north ridge...

Re: Markmay ?

Hmmmmm, I'm getting some mixed beta on
this one. If a person wants to save time,
I'm hearing the west ridge is the best
way to gain the summit. Where is the
fourth class - is it just below the summit?
A person can reach the west side from the
PCT, right?? Okay - thank you, Mark.
