The Amazing East Face of Torrey Peak

The Amazing East Face of Torrey Peak

Looking for a big wall that doesn't attract hordes of climbers and is in a spectacular mountain setting? Hike about seven miles up Bomber Basin, much of it on an abandoned trail that crosses talus and bog and deadfall, and you'll find your reward. The vertical relief of the face here is around 1400'. This view is from an airy outcrop near the approach to Talus Mountain's south ridge. Wind River Range, WY-- June 2009
