The crevasses are getting interesting

We're close to Svínahryggur, going around it on the west side, when we come to this crevasse field in our way. Just visible on the horizon, northwest of our location, is Tindaborg, which we want to go around as well. We haven't decided whether we'll do so on the west side as well, or take the somewhat shorter east route, which, according to the information we have, is steeper. We'll make up our mind higher up, when we have a better view of our options. For now, the question is how to negotiate these crevasses. The curvature of the terrain means that we can't see very far ahead, so we don't know if at some point we'll find ourselves blocked by a big crevasse. We decide simply to go where it looks possible, hoping that we see another way to continue when we're a little further. 18 May 2017.
