Re: Great..

term of comparison, yours!

I was thinking to post an image including a series of the very different aspects that Grandes Jorasses assume in function of the point of view.

Cheers!

Grandes is the Word

Great composition: The lower mountains in the foreground give an idea of the huge mass of granite that makes up the Grandes Jorasses. I'm reminded of the feat of Whymper and his party, who in 1865 took 19 hours to reach Punta Whymper from Courmayeur and return.

Re: Grandes is the Word

You were the only left to thanks!

You are right , the contrast with the reliefs at his foot is just impressive from this point of view.

Gervasutti

This picture of the east face also shows very well the famed Gervasutti route.

Re: grande veduta

The merit is mainly of the Grandes Jorasses and of the clouds, that waited still some time before hiding the summit.

Thanks, Tiziana!

Re: veramente molto bella

Thanks for your appreciation: I wonder how many views, as much valuable, do you have in your huge archives!

I was planning to send to SP an image containing 4-6 different view to show how the aspect of GJ changes drastically.

I would be glad, obviously, if you give a your contribution.

Re: E bravo Livio!!!

Thanks Maria Grazia!

After all, it's the same view that one enjoys from Fenêtre lake, without the wonderful reflection but from a very nearer point of view!

See you!
