Yes, I put weeks of work into researching, writing and setting up this one. I hope that it will give SP-ers just a little of the flavour of the Falklands that keeps me going down there.
I'd harboured a fond but futile hope that it might make the front page, therebye bringing this wonderful place to even more folks attention. But alas, not to be. I chose to post at the same time as 3 great route pages which took the prize this week. Oh well.......At least I won't go the way of the guy a few months ago who posted his own page in the "recommendations for the front page" thread in one of the forums. He got it too! There's no justice in the world :-)
I don't think a page has to be new to get featured on the front page. Check the dates and you will see some of them are old. I suggested this for getting featured in the Site Feedback thread. Hopefully it will show up in the next week or so.
By the by, I'm heading down your way in May. Double crossing of the Grand Canyon is on the schedule as well as Humphries and some Red Rocks summits as well. Fancy a beer at some point?
A unique area page on SP, and SO WELL DONE and thoughtfully composed as well as appealing to the eye. Enlightening as well! Such unique destinations are rare on SP, and it's nice when they show up so well represented. This makes SP a trasured and unique information source for outdoor lovers looking for the unusual. Thanks for building this fine page!

In this particular case the Falkland Islands Tourist Board have linked my SP pages to their website. Very rewarding and not a little flattering.
