What year was this ?
The year was 1996. I got absolutely soaked on this climb. It felt like it was raining I could only look up for a few seconds without getting water in my eyes. It was my second climb done at the Vail amphatheater. That is awonderful place for ice and mixed climbin
This kicks ass! Doesn't even really look like the top is in on this photo! You are nuts!!! The Fang didn't even come in this year, fell over twice! Hope I can try in next ice season when my skills are a little better and the ice is fatter. Nice shot.
Dan if the Fang comes in this winter you can climb it with us also many more up there, I do have extra tech. gear for ice if you or your girl friend need to borrow it. Crampons and tools
What more can be said about the Fang a classic by all standards. and yes the top part was seperated by about 3 to 4 feet. Still one of my favorite climbs any time I climb it.
amazing pic! it seems that ice is going to fall in a few seconds!; congrats, ice man;-)
unbelievable, hopefully holds this thing! :-)
