Hi Dad. This is a great picture of the Hut! I just have to mention that on the 18th, just a few days after you posted this picture, Skip was up there playing cello for a gig and he reported from the Hut that there was almost no snow, he was standing in dirt and wasn't even cold. We have had some very warm weather this last week, no?

Hi Suz,

Yeah, really lousy snow this year. It was about 40 degrees when I took that pic.

Remember that time about 1982 that you me and Paul hiked up there on a windy summer day? I have a pic of you with your wool cap pulled down over your eyes to keep the sand out.

Time to climb the whole thing, eh!?

Re: Silcox Hut photo

I insist on doing the Mt. Defiance first. I don't care what "they" say.

Re: Silcox Hut photo

Suz,

Well, what "they" say is that you climb Hood to train for Defiance, rather than the other way around!

I'm doing a 23 miler tomorrow with more gain than Hood - want to go?

Dad
