Don Nelsen, my father and a regular on this site, has been subjecting me to all manner of abuse, torture, suffering, and general physical and phychological ailment through outdoor activities (mostly running) for the entirety of my ambulatory life. Despite this I still love him and I have somehow developed a penchant for continuing to inflict this kind of abuse on myself.
I love the Pacific Northwest, the Columbia Gorge, and Portland's Forest Park, which is two blocks from my house and I consider myself very lucky to live where I do (of course I have spent my whole life convincing myself that, yes, I LOVE rain... and at this point I think the trick has worked...).
