The summit of Mangart from the north

This is the upper part of Mangart north wall. The normal ascent goes by the sunny ledge, which crosses below the summit dome. That passage is used as alpinistic ski tour also in spring and for winter ascents. Harder alpinistic skiing goes from the summit directly down. There are some variants, all exposed and difficult. When reaching the ledge, you ski towards the right on the saddle (where the road comes from the other side). See also this picture. April 27th, 2012.
