Apparently, Holy Roman emperor Maximilian I (early 1500s) was a keen climber himself, and it is recorded that he climbed this wall several times.

I don't suppose that wall is near the DB railway line from Garmisch to Innsbruck??

Only reason I ask is it looks familiar, and the only time I have been to Innsbruck was via the train from Garmisch...
