This is a special place to visit. The leaves are some of the best colors you will ever see in the fall.
On the coal vein trail I ran into my first rattlesnake. He didn't strike but I didn't press the issue either as I circled around his stretch of personal space. I slept overnight at the Buck Hill cul de sac after doing many of the short trails on the rim road.
1998 and 2016.
Sept 2016, hiked 78 miles in 5 days
July 1998 drove the main road and did short roadside hikes
Great park so much wildlife. Went to bunch of overlooks saw lots of buffalo, prairie dogs, and wild horses. Hiked Peck Hill. Exceeded expectations
This place is a great place to get away from it all.
all the buffalo were awesome. even the little ones (about 200 pound 'little ones')
Stopped by and went for a hike or two and ate lunch at this park. Very different and was very hot the day I was there. It was over 100 degree F.
