Thanks for the alps invite - we'll have to wait for that unfortunately (thinking of Europe in '07). If you ever come back this way, look us up for climbing in PNW.

Green tint is film or land?Seems like photos of European Alps and Dolomites usually have similar tint of green in photos. Is that due to the true landscape colors? Or to film available in Europe?

Re: Green tint is film or land?The film is Fuji Velvia, I think we brought it from the U.S.. So it's all the landscape, modulo some sloppy slide scanning.

Re: Green tint is film or land?I have been going to the Dolomites for 10 years now, and the only green tint I have seen is bad developing/copying. So go digital, and get rid of tints. (Should there still be any you can edit them away with any photo printing program.)

Re: Green tint is film or land?Didn't mean to imply anything wrong with it. I have heard that Fuji film emphasizes greens and blues, whereas Kodak emphasizes yellows and reds. Maybe its the Fuji factor.
Former clients in my Alaska river guiding used to send me prints from Europe that looked different than my Kodak slides of the same trips. Couldn't ever figure out what the difference was.

Re: Green tint is film or land?Ah that is interesting. It is kind of creepy that we have such differences! Even worse, we can get addicted to one tint - for myself, Velvia is my tin god. Now I'm taking digital pics, and I do a special bit of processing to re-create the Velvia look. It's the brilliant blue that gets me hooked. Thanks for the compliment, happy climbing this summer!!
