Three Fingers Night Painting

Three Fingers Night Painting

This is my vision of traveling to Three Fingers at night. Although I did not get to detail this as much as I had hoped, I studied photographs and such to get the mountain and glacier shape as accurate as I could. Inside the pocket (green backpack) it read: "Find your mountain in life and visit as much as you can... Not finished with that mountain, I need to climb again. I need a push from you, my long and trusted friend. I need the verbal challenge, those thoughtful words that teach. I need the vision ladder for steps that help me reach. You have the magic power, that lights up all my dark. You drive the thinking engine, providing the big spark. Your schedule and my timing, both are out of sync. I need to climb the mountain, to help me stop and think. Your seasons always changing, the summers missed my ride. Your winding path to glory, you tremble deep inside. The timing needs to change, so I can journey back. I need to climb the mountain to get us both on track." -Michael Charles Messineo During art class my teacher had us make paintings of abstract things, but I had something else in mind. For this school project it was titled "Poem in my Pocket" because we had to integrate a pocket into the painting and then insert a poem.

Nice job combing some awesome poetry with a good representation of Three Fingers. Anyone who has climbed the peak by the standard route would recognize this view.

Re: 3 F

Thanks Adam. Wish I could have done more on details and colors but was kinda new at painting and had to get it done in a certain about of time. But like many painters I tried to portray the mood of the land at night time.

Re: Nice

Michael its an honor to have you here. I first found this poem when looking for mountaineering poems that would match the painting well for my project. It was nicely written. :-D
