Three Hills Altar

The most significant Marian shrine in Romania - Altarul Triplu (RO), Hármashalom-oltár (HU) was constructed in 1996 at the foot of Şumuleu Mare (RO), Nagy-Somlyó (HU).

On 1.6.2019 Pope Francis celebrated Holly Mass here with participation of 160 priests and tens of thousands pilgrims. His message was as following:

Pilgrimage at Csíksomlyó is a legacy of Transylvania, a sign of dialogue, unity and fraternity, which respects Romanian and Hungarian religious traditions.
