"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

Looser than expectedThe summit ridge was actually super fun. Tons of 3rd route choices to choose from. The 4th stuff was sketch considering how loose & fractured EVERYTHING is.
Ascent/descent gully sucks. But that's the SJ.

Nice HikeNice hike - had a late start, left my house at noon and it was drizzling, hiked into Porphyry basin in a light rain, up the gully. Much easier scramble than expected, just loose.
And nice evening soak in Ouray Hot Springs.

Tough Route FindingClimbed with "T10" from Black Bear Pass, tough route finding to keep this one at 3rd class, I ended up trying several routes before finding a 4th class route I was comfortable with, but was able to descend the 3rd class route.
