The details: just as a through hike with the Chavez Trail and bypassing the Gudy Gaskill/Overlook trail, from west to east the trail goes at 11 miles and 2400' of gain with a net loss of 525'. So, oppositely, from east to west and finishing on the Chavez trail would net the same distance with an extra 525' of gain, for 2925' of total gain.
