Massive puddles on road, easy to follow trail, great views
We went in not really knowing what to expect since there are so few recent trip reports, but Thunderbolt was great! We parked at Trout Creek CG east of the summit and biked the 3ish miles to the trailhead (some easy terrain, some very loose rocks, many MASSIVE puddles taking up the whole road, and a couple creek crossings). You could probably drive the first couple miles in a Subaru/4x4, but it's gated from there so you'll be on foot/bike anyway at that point. The trailhead is well marked with surprisingly decent trail tread and mostly easy to follow. Great views from the summit and well worth the effort!

Roaring up Thunderbolt
Fun spring climb with Splattski. A fair amount of post-holing coming up Roaring Creek was worth the effort and culminated with a great climb up the very cool northwest ridge . Trip Report
